Hiring an Electrician to Install your Crystal Chandeliers

Installing crystal chandeliers in homes where there was not previously a large light fixture can be a tricky job.  It’s best to leave the installation of new fixtures to the professionals, so you can be sure that the result is a safe, correctly installed light.  Finding the right electrician for the job can be difficult if you don’t know where to look or which questions to ask.

There are many places that you can find a qualified electrician to install your new crystal chandeliers.  Asking friends or family members for recommendations, or looking online at websites such as Angie’s List or Craigslist are great ways to find an electrician to do the job.  Make a list of at least five professionals before you begin calling around.

Once your list is complete, call each of the electricians on it and ask if they have ever installed crystal chandeliers.  The dazzling light fixtures can be tricky to install because of their weight, so it’s important to find an electrician with experience in the field.  If you have a list with five names on it, you’re likely to find at least a few who know how to install crystal chandeliers.

While you’re on the phone with the electrician, you should ask for a free quote to install the light.  You may get a rough estimate over the phone, but most electricians would want to go to your house and take a look at the spot you want it placed before giving you a quote.  You may be surprised what you learn when electricians start looking around.

Once you’ve found a profession that has experience installing crystal chandeliers and they have given you a reasonable price that you can accept, you can go ahead and hire them to do the job.  Keep their business card handy, because you never know when a friend or acquaintance will need the name of a good electrician!
